By all means use whichever you prefer, but get a reference in writing from one of your chargenurses at each and every travel assignment. These can be used by the travel companies for your references as well as provides them with numbers and names to call if needed. You might even want to ask one of the doctors or the unit managers to complete one for you too!

References are always very important but in this day and age of the transient managers as well as staff it can be hard to get them later. If I look back on the assignments and staff positions I have had, as a nurse, (and I do tend to stay in touch with many of the facility staff I have made friends with), almost 90% of the units have new managers now. Not much help to agencies trying to track down someone to tell them about our competance, capabilites and professionalism and other good things.
